“Clay, Paper, Canvas”

Artists Joan Fetter, Agneta Gaines and Madelaine Healey feature a new series of works in “Clay, Paper, Canvas”from Tuesday, July 2 to July 28, 2019 at the Artists’ Cooperative Gallery, 405 S. 11th St. in Omaha’s Old Market. July featured Artists will host a First Friday opening reception 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., July 5, 2019.

Weaver Agneta Gaines is experimenting a bit with her weaving. In her yarn stash she has some Finnish paper yarn, bought in Sweden. She wanted to pursue some ideas of weaving with it, manipulating it and decorating it! As always Agneta cannot leave the surfaces of her work alone - something has to happen - be it using natural plants, beads, feathers or anything else that fits her imagination!

Intimacy, Intention, and Interaction are elements potter Madelaine Healey focuses on when designing pottery intended to weave into daily life. The functional work she creates is in a constant state of discovery to find ways to increase ease and satisfaction but also encourage thoughtful engagement with each piece.

Painter Joan Fetter work consists of bright colors, line and form. Her subjects tend to be animals which she drew when she was young. A Graduate of UNO she shows daily at the Artists’ Cooperative Gallery and has work nationwide.
