The Program:

Our Emerging Artist Program helps Omaha, Lincoln, and Council Bluffs area artists show a body of work in a professional gallery setting.  We connect gifted newcomers with experienced mentors who will help navigate the operational details of selling artwork in the market.  In addition, because we are a cooperative gallery and a non-profit organization, you will learn all facets of gallery operation from planning, to publicizing, to hanging a show.  This program offers a gateway to creative entrepreneurship.

Our jury will select finalists to show 3-5 pieces in the gallery for one month.  In addition, a following 3-month mentorship will be awarded to the winning artist, which is decided through a combination of a public vote and panel of jurors.  The winning artist will receive exhibit time at the gallery, mentoring by professional member-artists, and participate in group meetings.

Entry is open to artists who are at least 18 years old with no history of professional gallery consignment within a 75-mile radius of the local metro area.  Eligible applicants must submit consistent works in any visual art medium.  Please note: it is possible that an artist has shown work publicly; however, to be eligible, they have not had an established relationship with a professional gallery in the area.  All work must be original and created by the artist.  No students (artist must not be currently enrolled in a high school, trade or training school, or undergraduate program -- we are looking for your own style and vision, not instructor-driven pieces).  Artists are eligible to be in the Emerging Artist Show only one time (may apply again if you were not accepted as a finalist in previous years).
